Ok! Here is the Situation

We saw how devestated Rachel Truehart was on the Bachelor Pad finale after discovering Michael Stagliano had a new girlfriend. Obviously she learned about the girlfriend situation off camera from Michael himself. Now we get to finally hear what that conversation was like.

Wetpaint recently talked to Rachel about the situation:

How did you find out that Michael had a girl back home?

“He didn’t have a girl ‘back home’ – he had a girl in Chicago!  Finding this out actually happened in two parts.  First, we had a long talk on the phone about two weeks after I got back from filming, during which he was clear about not wanting to have a long distance relationship and didn’t see us being anything more than friends. I was obviously very upset. We were just on totally different pages and I felt like he was acting very cold towards me.  Then, the next morning I get a text message from him while I was at work telling me that he had starting dating a girl he met a few weeks ago and that she ‘knocked him off his feet.’  This of course knocked me off mine!  The wording was rather unnecessary and the fact he chose to text this to me the next morning instead of telling me over the phone took me by surprise as well.  I was shocked. He had been dating her almost the entire time I had been home and he waited that long to tell me.”

Do you think he had been seeing her before everyone left for filming?

“He promised me they had not been seeing each other prior to him coming on the show, which I do believe. But a few nights later during a group dinner with Jaclyn, a mutual friend told me they were in a long distance relationship. Jaclyn and I, our jaws dropped to the floor.  I confronted him about it and he said it was true and he apologized for not telling me.  Knowing it was long distance really just poured salt in the wound. But I in no way think he was seeing her before the show. Michael isn’t that kind of guy so I do believe him on that.”

Wow! Rachel may believe him but we don’t. The evidence file is mounting and it includes screenshots of Michael’s new girlfriend (aka “Emily from Chicago” or Emily Tuchscherer) tweeting Michael pre-Pad sounding like more than a friend. I suspect Rachel doesn’t believe him either, but has to save face in the press. She must have been really taken by surprise by the news considering Michael appeared to be looking for love on Bachelor Pad.
