Southern Charm’s Thomas Ravenel DUI sentencing

Thomas Ravenel star of Bravo’s Southern Charm and former state treasurer is having quite a few situations right now. We just learned that he and girlfriend Kathryn Dennis just had a baby girl over the last 9 months since the show finished taping. But that is not the only big thing that has happened in the last 9 months.

Ravenel was charged with a DUI driving in the Hamptons in New York in July of 2013.

He was arrested around 2:30 a.m. July 22 last year by East Hampton Village police in East Hampton Village after driving on the shoulder and crossing a double yellow line.

Recently he was sentenced for the offense.

The 51-year-old will have his driver’s license suspended for six months after pleading

The suspension covers his privileges in South Carolina as well.

The East Hampton Star newspaper reported that the reality star pled guilty to one misdemeanor count of driving while intoxicated. Ravenel will have his license suspended and he will be fined $1,400.

After the six months he will be required to install an interlock device which detects any alcohol on the breath of the user, on any car he drives in New York state for a year.

Ravenel will also incur the following penalties: 

His license will be suspended for six months.

He’ll be ordered to pay a $100 reinstallment fee.

He must file a certificate to his insurance.

He will be required to complete an alcohol and drug substance abuse program.

The police report said Ravenel was stopped because he was crossing the solid white line onto the shoulder and had crossed the solid double line at the road center.

Ravenel is currently considering a run for U.S. Senate against Republican incumbent Lindsey Graham.
