Annabelle Neilson, 45 is one of the stars of Bravo’s new reality show Ladies of London and is quite a fascinating, well-connected and well-renowned London personality.
Annabelle was born to London investment and property adviser Max Neilson and interior designer, Elizabeth Neilson, and raised in West London and Oxfordshire.
Neilson has been a regular fixture on the international party circuit for years–famous for wearing very revealing outfits like a totally sheer dress designed by close friend Alexander McQueen that she wore to a party in 2000.

She may be most famous for dating and marrying global banking magnet Nathaniel Philip Rothschild whom she met on a beach in India when she was in her teens and dated for six years.
Believe it or not the two eloped in Las Vegas in 1995 much to the surprise and dismay of their parents. But the marriage fell apart 2 years later in 1997. Both Annabelle and Nat reportedly partied hard on both sides of the Atlantic–lots of explosive fights followed by passionate reconciliations. Eventually the volatile roller coaster proved two much for the both of them and they filed for divorce.
Obviously Nathaniel has some serious money in the bank—I mean he OWNS “the” bank, so the settlement was also a bit of a situation. The two came to a strict and secure financial settlement in 1998 which required Annabelle to revert to her maiden name and sign a confidentiality agreement promising to never discuss her relationship with Rothschild–big bummer for us.
Rothschild was deemed by the New York Times to potentially “become the richest Rothschild of them all”.

Nathaniel is in line to become the fifth Baron Rothschild and inherit around £500million from his banker father — NTM his position as a top-notch hedge fund manager has established him as a billionaire so one can only guess at the settlement reached.
After Rothschild she dated Lord Edward Spencer Churchill, son of the Duke of Marlborough, and magazine editor Jefferson Hack.

Since her well-publicized divorce 16 years ago to Rothschild Neilson has been frequent fodder for the tabloids. She continues to run in famous circles–stars like Kate Moss, Jude Law, Naomi Campbell, Richard Branson, artist Damien Hirst, art dealer Jay Jopling, and actress Sienna Miller.
She is also close with fashion designers John Galliano and the late Alexander McQueen.
In fact Anabelle was considered to be McQueen’s muse. She was even a bridesmaid at his 2000 wedding to his filmmaker boyfriend George Forsyth. Annabelle was understandably devastated when her close friend died in 2011.
She wrote a fascinating piece in Apr 14, 2011 Harper’s Bazaar about Lee Alexander’s death:
“That phone call was the single lowest moment of my life. Lee promised me he would never do what Isabella [Blow] had done. ……. He gave me his wallet two days before, explaining he wanted a new one. He gave me a picture of himself with his dog, and he gave me all these other things, even though I said I didn’t want them. He wrote some letters; he wrote of his dogs. I wonder now if things would have been different if I hadn’t left that night, but a part of me knows that there is nothing anyone could have done to change anything. Lee made the choice he wanted.”
She is an author of a children’s book and is presently working on a novel about her friendship with McQueen.
