Bachelor Canada 2: April Brockman’s awkward Hometown situation

I can not believe Bachelor Canada season 2 is almost over! This week was Hometowns and Bachelor Tim Warmels, 28 was introduced to the family’s of his 4 remaining ladies, Sachelle, Lisa (well sort-of), Trisha and April.

It’s been pretty clear that the final two would be April Brockman, 27 and Trisha Vergo, 28 in my opinion but tonight we learned that April is actually having doubts about her feelings for Tim! Not a good sign this close to a proposal!

So April takes Tim to Wasaga Beach and sits him down to explain to him why he won’t be meeting her parents. She explains that her parents were “party-ers” and her father died when she was young of a drug overdose. Her mother is still alive but she does not explain why she does not have a relationship with her. But April also revealed later that she was not exactly “falling” for Tim (although at the end of the Hometown she did quickly and briskly say “I’m falling for you”–but it was more like “Thanks for meeting my fam, I’m falling for you, see ya at the rose ceremony”. In her blog she makes it pretty clear that her feelings are not quite there yet.

“It was also very important that I be completely honest with Tim about my feelings for him. I want to be crazy for him, but that kind of crazy can’t be forced – it might take me some more time. What keeps me open to all of this is knowing that sometimes the greatest loves are the ones that grow over time.”

Luckily introducing Tim to the people closest to her did evoke stronger feelings for him and a deeper commitment to her relationship with him—just in the nick of time BTW!

“I can’t believe I’ve introduced Tim to my family and two of my dearest friends already, and even more unbelievable is how much more into him I am because of it. I find something extremely attractive about the way a man carries himself in a social setting, and even more so with those who are so important to me. I watched Tim connect so effortlessly with my loved ones and I listened closely to the way he genuinely answered questions about what he’s looking for in a woman and what he values most in life. The way he spoke about our dates and our time spent together was so endearing, and it was in those moments that I found myself falling for him.”

I find it a tad hard to believe that her feelings for Tim changed that quickly. I am betting Tim will choose Trisha in the end. I think Tim is scared to death of being rejected by his final choice and April’s doubts will likely push him to choose Trisha over April for the final rose.

  1. He kept saying in the beginning how hot April is and has always been very touchy feely with her.Men think with the wrong head,I would love to see him with Trish but I think he will choose April.

  2. If anything April’s measured response to “falling in love” bachelor-style is refreshing and reassuring and so much more like it works in the “real” world vs. Trish-Tim’s happy-go-lucky one-dimensional dates. I find the glimpses of intimacy in Tim/April’s dates especially interesting vs. “puppies/couples” conversations between Tim/Trish (Italy). I think there are positives about both women and Tim really likes them both…we’ll see which he chooses in the end for “unconditional” love.
