Bachelorette Jasmine Lorimer says goodbye to Mike Ogilvie after Hometowns

In a very shocking twist, Canadian Bachelorette Jasmine Lorimer booted front-runner and 1st impression rose winner Mike Ogilvie after Hometowns on Tuesday night. I am stunned. I really thought Mike O. had this in the bag. He was handsome, kind, charismatic, heroic and even geographically desirable!

But alas, Tuesday was Hometowns and the 29-year-old Winnipeg Firefighter got the boot leaving Mikhel Sickand and Kevin Wendt to compete for the final rose.

So what the heck happened?

Jasmine went to Winnipeg to meet Mike’s family, and that seemed to go flawlessly as Jasmine and Mike’s dad bonded about growing up in the small town of Kenora, Ontario.

But I guess things took a turn during their one on one time and I am not sure if Jasmine had strong feelings for Mike but simply felt they would not be reciprocated or if she was just ‘not that in to him’.

Jasmine is an Enneagram 6. Sixes are all about safety and security. In other words they want the sure thing. And she may have worried that Mike was not a sure thing unlike Kevin W. and Mikhel who had both declared their undying love for her.

Mike seems to have problems expressing his feelings telling Jasmine, “I like you a lot. You’re someone I could definitely see myself falling in love with.”

Oh no! Mike have you not seen the show?! You know that by Hometowns if you want to win you must profess your undying love and intentions to buy the Bachelorette an engagement ring or it’s game over. “I like you a lot” does not cut it.

Apparently producers filled Mike in because back in Vancouver on the night of the rose ceremony Mike tells her: “I’m falling in love with you.”

But sadly it’s too late. Jasmine has made her choice and tearfully says goodbye to the Winnipeg Firefighter. Mike concedes that he has learned an important lesson…

“I learned that love doesn’t wait around for anybody. The lesson for me is that maybe I have to put myself out there a little bit earlier. But you live and you learn,” he admits. “I think there is someone out there for me. When I find that woman I’m really not going to waste time.”

“The Bachelorette Canada” airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on W Network.
