So last night fans went crazy when 27-year-old Travis Kelce chose Maya Benberry, 25 over Veronica Harwood, 25 on the season finale of Catching Kelce after just lamenting that Maya reminded him of his ex girlfriends and some unhealthy relationships in his past.
Not only that, Maya became a fan un-favorite with all of her smack talking behind the scenes…even suggesting Travis wasn’t really her type. Understandably some fans think Maya was in it for all the wrong reasons. In fact one “fan”, runner-up Veronica Harwood even said,
“Travis, f–k you! It’s not going to work with Maya. She’s going to end up screwing you over in the long run.”
Of course everyone knows Travis Kelce is very very rich. The NFL tight end just signed a contract that makes him league’s second-highest paid tight end at $9.2 million per season for a total of 46 million dollars.
A relationship with Travis certainly comes with a lot of perks, including plenty of Step and Repeats and media opportunities.
Given that the African/American Kentucky beauty is an aspiring actress and Fashion designer a lot of people including her co-stars are suspicious of her motives for doing the show.
After the massive backlash from fans who were outraged at Travis for choosing Maya she took to Twitter to “clarify things”.
“Being with Travis has pushed me to be even more successful and to bring something to the table! The last thing I want from him is a handout
So finally meeting a successful man who wasn’t intimidated by my beauty, confidence and career aspirations was all that I’ve ever wanted
I don’t knock the women that prefer to stay at home but I have big goals for myself and to have a man that wants me to succeed is amazing
I liked Travis because he is the only guy I’ve ever dated that actually supported me and my career aspirations.
Thank you for being supportive!”
Well, there you have it. I’m sure not entirely sure these two are even still together. I suspect Travis is not looking to settle down anytime soon and may continue a casual relationship with Maya. Maya is presently in Los Angeles and Travis is in Kansas City training for the upcoming football season.
By the way, Maya is not the only cast member that drew criticism for possibly having ulterior motives. Avery Schlereth came under fire for her past doing reality television.
