Who is Eden Sassoon’s famous mother?

If you have been watching season 7 of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills you have met new star Eden Sassoon and if you were alive in the 80’s the name ‘Sassoon’ is not new to you. Surely you are well aware of her famous father, British hair sculptor extraordinaire Vidal Sassoon. Tonight on RHOBH Eden talks about her abandonment issues with regards to her mother, claiming her mother went into labor on a Friday, gave birth to her on that Friday and left that same day on a vacation to the Hampton’s without her.

So who was Eden’s mysterious mother?

Her mother was a famous actress named Beverly Adams. Beverly was born in Canada but moved to Burbank, California as a teen where she started competing in beauty contests.

She then became an actress.  Adams didn’t achieve major fame but she did land some guest roles in television series of the 1960s. She starred as the klutzy, redheaded Cassandra in How to Stuff a Wild Bikini and held the recurring role of Lovey Kravezit in the Matt Helm movies starring Dean Martin.

Adams married hairstylist Vidal Sassoon in 1966 at the age of 21. After marrying Sassoon she retired from acting to raise the couple’s four children: daughter Catya (1968–2002); son Elan BenVidal (b. January 17, 1970); adopted son David (b. circa 1972); and daughter Eden Sassoon (born circa 1973).

Anyhow the disclosure tonight provides some interesting insight into the dynamics of the famous Sassoon family. Mom was clearly a bit cold and I have to wonder if this callousness helped fuel the family dysfunction like Catya’s drug overdose and David’s estrangement.

Beverly’s mother was Canadian and her father was an American in the U.S. Air Force father (formerly a minor league baseball player). She was born and was raised Roman Catholic. So I am guessing her upbringing was filled with dysfunction.

Let me clarify that statement. Its not that she was raised Roman Catholic. I just suspect there was a recipe for dysfunction somewhere in Beverly’s upbringing since dysfunction generally follows families from one generation to the next. Just some info to ponder in trying to figure out why she was so cold.

Hopefully we will learn more about the skeletons in the Sassoon closet as the season progresses.

  1. I remember her mom Beverly Sassoon with Erik Estrada–older woman, young man famous couple! Both were beautiful –she was about 40 then, Vidal went on to wife #3 and #4. Beverly looks great now, Eden needs counseling, or this is her storyline.

  2. The photo here looks exactly like Erik Estrada, with a woman and two children. What gives?

  3. “She was raised Roman Catholic so I’m guessing her upbringing was filled with dysfunction.”. Wow what a bigot. Imagine if you said her father was raised Jewish so I guess his upbringing was filled with dysfunction. You’d be fired.

    • I suppose I need to clarify that statement. I am “guessing” it was filled w/ dysfunction because of how she behaved at Edens birth and because there is so much dysfunction in the Sassoon family which usually means the parents were raised amid dysfunction.
