Tonight on The Bachelorette 26-year-old Marcus Grodd and 27-year-old attorney Andi Dorfman enjoy some 1-on-1 time touring Brussels and get to enjoy a spectacular dinner at the breath-taking Palais de Academies.
Marcus Grodd is absolutely smitten with Bachelorette Andi Dorfman and claims that “being here with Andi I feel really happy”, but he also feels compelled to fill her in on his family situation and details about his painful childhood before he takes her home for hometowns.
“It’s very difficult what we’ve been through,” he begins.
“My father left…suitcases packed — I never understand fully why he left — why he blamed me and my mom”…whoa!
We know he was born in Medicine Hat, Canada to German father Klaus Erich Grodd, now 69, and Polish mother Halina Grodd, now 59, on July 2, 1988 (Happy Birthday Marcus!!)

His family moved to America when he was just 2-years-old, but Marcus budding soccer career took him to Amsterdam and Denmark for 5 years as a kid.
He has a brother named Conrad, 36 in finance and a 34 year old sister, model “Katerina” Cathy Grodd, who lives in Dallas Texas and undoubtedly witnessed and experienced the same abuse.
I’m actually surprised Marcus did not choose to share this on the 2nd 1 on 1 date. That’s usually when the really intense stuff comes out. I will say this disclosure really seemed warranted vs Kacie B and the High School anorexia/bulemia overshare–still our favorite overshare of all time!
Anyway Marcus goes on to describe the issues he had with his mother Halina claiming that…”her mom was very very strict and beat it into her literally and thats kind of what my mom did to us…my mom and I had a dysfunctional relationship.”
He also claimed the two sort of made amends after his mother cried and apologized. He claims he now sees her 2 or 3 times a week and now they are close. “Its a weird dynamic” he tells her.
Wow!! No doubt Marcus must be plagued with some intense abandonment issues.
Hometowns are gonna be an intense situation for Marcus!!!!
