‘Women Tell All’ Kelsey Poe returns to defend herself

Tonight on The Bachelor 17 of the original 30 women return to explain their situations and confront Chris Soules about why he dumped them. The show taped on Feb. 21st and things got intense according to host Chris Harrison who contends this season was the:

“Craziest. Wildest. It was lightning in a bottle, good and bad.”

Widow and guidance counselor Kelsey Poe from Austin, Texas is one of the women who returns to confront Chris and to explain herself.

Poe made some rather controversial comments about her dead husband musician Sanderson Poe, that made her seem insensitive, “Isn’t my story amazing? It’s tragic, but amazing. I love my story.”

Poe says she can not say much about how she was portrayed because of her ABC contract, but responds to criticism from viewers in USA Today saying: “I am blessed with eloquence,” she said. “And I’m articulate and I use a lot of big words because I’m smart.”

Her pre-rose ceremony panic attack rubbed a lot of women the wrong way and made them doubt her sincerity.

Backstage, Poe said this to USA Today about whether or not she was misrepresented, “It’s a very difficult question to answer because of … my contract. I can say that there were some things that were said that should have had a framework around it.”

“I was blindsided. I had no idea that that characterization on episode five would come across that way,” she said, “I knew there would be a lot of drama around it, but I had no idea the narration would vilify me.”

She goes on to say, “I can’t walk away saying it’s the best thing in my life. I also can’t say it’s horrible and I despise it. … I have to take this with a grain of salt and hope that it will open doors for me.”

Kelsey quit her job as a guidance counselor and is moving to Paris to write a book on coping with the death of her husband.

Host Chris Harrison responds to the claim that the editing portrays the women unfairly? “We just show what they’ve done. Look, one of the things I’ve learned in 13 years is it’s not black and white. It’s easy to say, ‘Oh Kelsey’s crazy,’ but there’s a reason people are the way they are. I’m fascinated by it.”
