Jax Taylor gets Tom’s triplet brothers to his wedding

So occasionally 36-year-old Vanderpump Rules jackass Jax Taylor redeems himself and does something decent, even heroic — although it’s pretty rare, but this time he really stepped up to the plate for his pal Tom Schwartz and made sure that Tom’s adorable triplet brothers, Brandon, Billy, and Bert Schwartz made it to Tom’s sham wedding to Katie Maloney from St Paul, Minnesota.

Ok, ok, I am sort of joking when I say “sham” wedding, but not totally. In fact, I quickly discovered I was not alone in my assessment of these nuptials when Twitter exploded Monday night as fans learned that Tom’s brothers would not be attending his wedding because they couldn’t afford the airfare!!!

Especially given the $50,000 price of the affair–fans were wondering why Tom would not throw down for his brothers unless he knew the wedding was a sham.

So needless-to-say, I find the entire situation a bit suspect, but it did afford Jax the opportunity to prove that he was worthy of his groomsman title.

Jax claims in his Bravo blog that,  “It came really, really close to not happening,” ….”It really did. And I was livid,” in reference to the fact that the three brothers missed the flight that Jax and Sandoval paid for.

“We were trying to figure out what to get Tom for his wedding present and we didn’t want to get him a gift. We wanted to get him something that he really, really wanted and Tom was really up high on the budget for the wedding but he really wanted to have his brothers there,” ….. “But it was a little bit too much to spend.”

So the natural solution was to go to the other Tom S., Tom Sandoval.

“I approached Tom Sandoval like, ‘Why don’t we fly in his brothers? Why don’t we go get them suits? Go get them haircuts. Fly them in, get them hotels, and surprise him,'” Jax said. “‘Cause he wanted to have his brothers there, but it wasn’t in the budget. So we surprised him with that and I knew I could get Tom to break down and cry when he saw his brothers ’cause he loves his brothers to death. He loves his family. So that was a huge thing for us.”

The effort, while valiant by the two men, brought to light some big questions and issues, like the fact that  Schwartz sister and dad were also not planning on attending the wedding! And what an awkward phone call, Jax calling to tell the brothers he’d like to spring for just their plane tickets.

Like I said, I find this situation suspect—at first I thought it was either choreographed to add some intrigue, but after I saw Tom’s tearful reaction I realized he was really not expecting his baby bros. So that naturally leads me to believe that Tom Schwartz and his family know the wedding is a sham and therefore everyone (but mom) decided to forgo the nuptials this time around and wait for the real thing.
