Wow! Ladies, Roberto Martinez may be off the market! Star magazine is reporting he apparently turned down the offer to be the Bachelor after falling in love with a model. Roberto’s tag line on Twitter is “Create the Situation You Want…”– which is obviously amazing to us here at Ok! Here is the Situation and it appears that he did exactly that — “created the situation” he wanted.
We heard RealitySteve report that he was 1000% sure Roberto was going to be the next Bachelor, but we were not so sure. ABC wasn’t really acting like it was Roberto. And, apparently he turned down an impressive $500,000 offer to be with the 26-year-old model Kara Ramos instead.
First of all, why wasn’t anyone filming THIS love story unfold? Turning down 500k because you’re in love is no small gesture. It looks like the two were actually dating during negotiations — that has to be an uncomfortable situation. Star magazine quotes Kara: “We both really like each other,” but after hearing Roberto was going to be the Bachelor she pulled away — Com’on Kara — really? You are going to put the brakes on just because he will be the lead in a primetime reality show to find a wife?
Kara also tells Star: “It’s true we were together, but when I found out he was going to be the next Bachelor, I canceled my visit. It was really hard on me.” This is really interesting if you have been watching the Mormon Bachelor webseries like me, because the exact same thing just happened. The show was getting ready to tape and the Mormon hunk was walking along the beach one day and met another amazing lady and had to drop out.
A friend of Roberto’s told Star: “There was instant attraction between Roberto and Kara. He fell for her so hard that a little while after they met, he attended a wedding in Florida and then made a detour to Connecticut before heading home to the West Coast, just to see her again.”
“They spent a romantic weekend together and really cemented their budding relationship.” Again where was ABC!?!! They should have been filming this!
“Kara was crushed when she found out, and Roberto felt so bad that he offered to reimburse her for her plane tickets,” the friend adds. “She’s really attracted to him, but she was afraid of becoming too attached — and then seeing him meet someone else on the show.”
Apparently, as Star magazine says: “Roberto took stock of the situation” — yet another official situation! —“and decided that even a half million dollars wasn’t enough incentive to go back in the spotlight to find love on TV, especially with the promise of his new romance with a wonderful girl like Kara,” according to his friend.
“Roberto already knows what it takes to have a love relationship played out on national television, and he’d rather have his privacy now with a girl he’s really crazy about,” the friend continues.
Good God! We love it when a real love situation unfolds off camera. This is a twist we did not see coming! Congratulations Roberto!!
