Although the official announcement of who will be the next Bachelorette isn’t supposed to be made until the After the Final Rose show on Monday, March 11, it seems it’s all-but-officially-officially-confirmed: Sean Lowe’s post-hometown-date castoff Desiree Hartsock is our next Bachelorette.
And, according to HollywoodLife, not only is the choice for “next Bachelorette” a done deal, Des has already started shooting!
Has it begun? The spurned ‘Bachelor’ contestant was spotted with a camera crew on a Santa Monica pier on Mar. 8! The Bachelor fave, who was eliminated late in the game, was filming with a full camera crew on a Santa Monica pier. As for what she was actually shooting, the details are being kept a secret, but what other show utilizes so many “gazing into the distance, hair blowing in the wind” shots?
What do you think of ABC’s choice? I mean, you do realize this means her aggro brother will likely attempt to “holla” at Desiree’s final two suitors during the finale of The Bachelorette. That should be something to watch!
I guess I’m okay with this choice. I mean, it could have been worse (read: AshLee Frazier or Kacie Boguskie). But, it’s been awhile since I’ve been *really* blown away by the choice in lead. I still stand by thought that the lead should be A TOTAL FREAKING CATCH. And, although the leads of late have been “catches,” I would argue that they haven’t been TOTAL FREAKING CATCHES.
Of course, I was pleasantly surprised by Sean Lowe this season. He was a SNOOZE on Emily’s season, which was apparently the product of editing, because he’s actually kind of an animated and fun guy. So, hopefully we’ll see more zest and zip from Desiree once she’s put in the spotlight.
Viva, The Bachelorette 2013!
