Bachelor and 28-year-old Toronto entrepreneur, Tim Warmels had to let two ladies go this week on Hometowns but the two break-ups could not have been more different! Tim seemed Ok with Lisa Racz‘ indiscretion when she confessed it to him in Italy, but did an about face when he returned home. I suspect it had to do with Sachelle telling Tim that she had to pull Lisa off the guy ‘twice’ and that Lisa was in the streets shouting “I just made out with that bartender so hard”.
So Tim does something unprecedented, he flies to Lisa’s Hometown of Calgary, Alberta for their Hometown Date which Lisa has clearly painstakingly planned. Undoubtedly friends and family are waiting in the wings excited to meet Tim and the City Tv production crew, but Tim instead dumps her on the spot.
Obviously Tim must have been seriously angry after he had time to marinate in the situation. So it was interesting to hear Tim talk about it in his blog. By the way, I love these blogs because it does appear that the characters do write them immediately after the episode is filmed.
Tim said this:
“And then there was the trip to Calgary to see Lisa. I felt terrible about the timing of it all, but I had zero time to digest the events in Italy; I needed time to get in touch with my gut instincts. When I finally figured out for myself that the trust was no longer there, it didn’t feel right for me to continue and meet her parents. I didn’t want to lead anyone on in any way and I knew parting ways was the right thing to do.”
Here is Lisa’s take if you missed it.
As far as Sachelle’s break-up! It was heart-wrenching especially since Sachelle is such an upstanding amazing lady who really deserves a Tim Warmels, but sadly Tim was just not feelin’ it. Let’s be honest, Tim Warmels wants a hot mess. And Sachelle was way too together for him.
In fact Sachelle’s Hometown was a bit hard to watch because the writing was so on the wall—when Tim hugs Sachelle he pats her on the back. That’s the dead giveaway.
Anyhow, I think Sachelle’s brother may have some anger management issues like Desiree Hartsock’s brother Nate but I was just happy that Tim survived the family meeting without getting clocked by the brother.
Sachelle did do something really funny though as they ended the date, she casually and quickly drops the ‘L’ bomb on Tim during their hug. Although in her defense you know the producers sit down with the girls and tell them ‘Ok at some point on this date you need to use the ‘L’ word’. So she knew the clock was running out and she had to fulfill her production duties—and Sachelle is all about her duties. Needless to say the whole exchange was so awkward. I had a hard time believing that Sachelle didn’t already know she was out, but it looks like she really did not.
Here is what Tim said:
“At the end, as much as I fit in with Sachelle and her family, there was just something missing. I loved spending time with her, but I knew it wasn’t enough to spend the rest of my life with her. I felt very good about my choices because ultimately, that’s what I’m here for… to find the one.”
