One of the fun-est things about The Bachelor is the relationships that evolve over time off screen–especially when they start off with one person hopelessly in love with another person that is not only not interested, but also on the verge of filing a temporary restraining order as was in the case of Ashley Iaconetti and Jared Haibon.
In fact on season 2 of Bachelor in Paradise, 29-year-old Jared was less than pleased that Ashley was there…. for him and cock-blocking him from every angle. He was actually furious and exacerbated that Ashley wasn’t taking a hint and Ashley was inconsolable. It seemed she would be carrying this torch for handsome, gentle Jared forever.
But alas then Bachelor Winter Games happened and Ashley had a suitor, a very hot and sought after suitor named Kevin Wendt. The two hit it off swimmingly even heading to a Fantasy Suite in the end.
But things between Ashley and Kevin didn’t last long leaving America’s most famous virgin (actually she did lose her virginity to Kevin) single. But something was a little different about Ashley this time. She had a little spring in her step.
She became much more comfortable with herself and in front of cameras and I think Jared took notice and suddenly the girl that Jared had once seen as a nuisance suddenly became a catch.
Cut to 4 months later and now they are dating.
And on Thursday the two revealed that they are taking a vacation together.
In an Instagram story, the couple posted a cute selfie as they head off for Kapalua on the island of Maui in Hawaii.
Ashley said,
‘This is the 17th time we’ve tried to record a selfie saying we’re going to Hawaii,’ Jared said. Adding, ‘Our first romantic getaway.’
