Cameron Ayala has become a serious situation on this season of The Bachelorette. He has really embraced the phrase “there are no rules”. Of course, host Chris Harrison always says that phrase at some point (usually towards the end signaling that the lead is going to back out of his obligatory dramatic engagement fake-out with the shows runner-up) during every season of the show but let’s be honest, there are definitely rules on this show or the “journey” would be over after the 3rd episode every season.
What Cam doesn’t get is that that phrase is reserved for front-runners—the guys that ooze charm and charisma and can effortlessly swoop in and make an unscheduled visit to the Bachelorette. Needless-to-say Cam decides to torture Hannah B., his co-suitors and all of America by taking this phrase to the limit.
He crashed the second part of the roller-derby group date on episode 2 pulling Hannah aside and trying to be charming with phrases like “I don’t want to get too Hannahlytical” and reiterating his catch phrase “A-B-C. Always Be Cam”
Needless-to-say the guys are pissed. They roller skated their asses off for this time with Hannah Beast. They come outside one by one to confront Cam and tell him he’s a douche-bag.
Next Cam pulls Hannah AND Kevin aside during their pre-rose mini 1 on 1 cocktail party to have an impromptu mini McNugget party.
Kevin is understandably furious with this dick-move. But sadly Hannah still isn’t done with Cam and hands him a rose.
Cut to episode 3 where Cam insists he has “something really important I need to tell her,”
And it’s, “very, very personal and very serious” ….. “This is something that has been a downfall in my past two serious relationships,” …..“There’s a strong likelihood that it may be too much for her to handle,” Cam adds, “and she sends me home before the rose ceremony.” I think it’s definitely going to be “too much for her to handle”!
So then he goes in for the Cam-bush on Mikes date. (“You’re gonna get your time… I’ll come get you Mike ells Cam.)
Mike tells Hannah this about Cam — “He sat us all down and told us that he was going to tell you a sad story to kind of get a pity rose” —
“I’m really disappointed,” she says. “I don’t give pity roses.” She grabs Cam from the tailgate party to confront him on the sketchy maneuver.
Cam denies that he was seeking a “pity rose,” but then Hannah asks him if he was writing goodbye letters to the guys earlier that morning…
“I was writing letters because I didn’t know how you would respond to [my story].”
Needless-to-say, Hannah gives Cam the boot.
