Well, Bachelorette contestant Jef Holm isn’t the only millionaire on the ABC show. Apparently, the Bachelorette is a millionaire herself, which kind of makes the rumors that she’s a gold digger a bit ridiculous. Unless, I guess, she wants to be richer than rich!
Emily Maynard’s net worth is $5 million dollars, according to celebritynetworth.com.
Emily Maynard was engaged to race car driver and owner Ricky Hendrick, who died in a plane crash in 2004. A week after his death, 18-year-old Emily found out that she was pregnant. Ricky’s father is the owner of Hendrick racing, who is worth $200 million.
It’s unclear from the site how Emily acquired the $5 million dollars. Although reports from Us Weekly claim ABC is paying her a $250,000 base salary to be The Bachelorette.
But reports are still unclear on that number. Another source at RadarOnline claims Maynard demanded a huge sum of money. “Emily told [producers] she wanted $750,000 and they said no way but she settled for something higher than $100,000, probably around $150,000,” the source said, pointing out that Jillian Harris and Ashley Hebert were only paid $50,000 and $30,000.
The source also claims that while Emily is looking for love on the show, she also wants a guy with money. Hendrick was worth $15 million when he died.
Though she is reportedly embroiled in a bitter feud with six-year-old daughter, Ricki’s grandparents but is still receiving financial support from them according to Us Weekly although they do not communicate anymore.

I think that the producers erred in selecting Emily for the Bachelorette, and giving in to all her demands. To all the guys who she did not choose as her “next man”, you should be thankful that she did not.
