The Bachelor Pad is coming back Summer 2014!

The new Bachelor Nation franchise is called Bachelor in Paradise, and is very similar to it’s predecessor The Bachelor Pad with a few key differences. One, a new Pad in a nicer location —  tropical.

Two, ABC has removed the annoying financial incentive–thank god, because we were tired of watching that part…we just wanted to see the hookups which were much more organic and less forced than on The Bachelor. Recall some famous Bachelor Pad hook-ups: Kiptyn and Tenley, Gia Allemand and Wes Hayden, Blakeley Shea and Tony Pieper, Michael Stagliano and Rachel Truehart, Chris Bukowski and Jamie Otis, Ed Swiderski and Jaclyn Swartz . There was even a love trapezoid on season 2.

The contestants on the new show will live together in an isolated tropical location for six episodes.

ABC says this: “The romantic dating series will feature new twists, shocking surprises, unexpected guests and some of the most unlikely relationships in Bachelor history, plus all the usual romance, drama and tears we’ve come to expect from the Bachelor franchise. It all comes together in the romantic television event of the summer.”
