So I am officially getting caught up on the new reality show Married at First Sight and it is AMAZING! I am especially obsessed with the relationship of Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner since Jamie was one of our all time faves on The Bachelor.
So on the fyi show Jamie, 27 marries 31 year old commercial sales rep Doug Hehner “at first sight” and she spends her entire wedding day crying because she is not attracted to Doug at all. So it’s off to a great start! Good job experts!
I just watched episode 3, the Honeymoon episode and Jamie and Doug are sent to St. Thomas. First of all I was really caught off guard by how mean Jamie was to her new husband. I know she is not attracted to him, but settle down…you guys are in St. Thomas on somebody else’s dime for the love of God! So she is abundantly clear with Doug that there is no attraction on her part and there will be no physical touching.
I have to say, Doug is really exceptional with her. He is convinced that he can win her over in time with his excellent personality. And he appears to be right.
They begin the ep laying in their hotel bed and Doug shows Jamie a photo album and tells her about his life and regales her with a story about how he saved someone’s life.
By the end of their honeymoon Jamie claims that she now gets butterflies with her new husband. He even lets him spoon her in bed.
I have to confess I am still holding my breath here because it’s pretty easy to fall in love with someone in such a romantic setting plus everyone looks good with a tan. And the previews for next week when they move in together don’t look so great. Doug still lives at home with his parents and Jamie is not having this.
On Tuesday, Jamie took to Twitter to say:
“No kisses for our wedding night, but by end of honeymoon we couldn’t get enough!”
FYI’s Married at First Sight just announced that they are launching a spin-off called Married At First Sight: The First Year set to premiere on Jan. 13, 2015
