Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner’s 2nd wedding special

Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner met and fell in love in the most unusual way. They met at their wedding day on a show called Married at First Sight. They agreed to marry one another sight unseen–handing all of their trust over to a panel of experts who believed that they had the ability to find the two their perfect partner.

The 28-year-old nurse told the cameras on her wedding day that it was the ‘worst decision’ of her entire life aka things were not off to a great start. The two headed off to their Honeymoon in St Thomas where Jamie refused to let Doug touch her! It was the world’s most awkward honeymoon. But Doug was playing the long game. He was patient and loving and accepting and Jamie’s feelings began to change. Eventually she fell madly in love with her 32-year-old husband.

In the end the two decided to stay together and to keep filming on an FYI channel spin-off series titled Married at First Sight: The First Year.

So tonight the two returned to St. Thomas to renew their vows and have a proper ceremony.

This time there were conflicts but it was not between bride and groom, it was with Jamie’s mother.

Jamie confronts her mother over how her extensive drug use has impacted her life.

‘You’ve betrayed me and you’ve hurt me in the worst ways,’ Jamie tells her.

Jamie’s mom claims the mistakes are ancient history and it’s time to move on, but Jamie is obviously deeply scarred:

‘I can forgive, but I can’t forget.’

‘For the past 10, 12 years my mom was on and off with drugs,’ Jamie says in her ITM. ‘I am unfortunately a bit bitter.’

But don’t worry the wedding between Jamie and Doug goes off without a hitch. This time the two are able to write more meaningful vows to exchange at the altar.

‘I am in love with you and I want to spend the rest of my life with,’ Jamie tells Doug .

Doug delivers an equally emotional speech to Jamie, even shedding a few tears and the two walk off into the sunset together.
