Ok! Here is the Situation rang in the new year by sending a Chinese wish lantern up into the night sky a la Ashley Hebert’s date with Constantine on the last season of The Bachelorette. I’m not even quite sure how we managed to manifest this Bachelor life parallel into our lives, but it was an amazingly perfect way to celebrate the launch of this website and to send our wishes for the new year off into the universe (the other celebration happening in 2012 being my pending nuptials!).
We were enjoying a quiet New Year’s Eve fire in front of my apartment when we started seeing some beautiful lanterns floating up overhead. Curious about their origin, we set out on foot to see where they were being launched from. And just a couple of blocks away, we stumbled upon a really awesome NYE party, were invited in and were allowed to launch a Chinese wish lantern of our own. I mean, you just can’t make this stuff up. Our relationship with the Bachelor franchise is just obviously so meant to be!
We also now know how to source the lanterns on our own and plan to bring several to Black Rock City, NV next summer to celebrate another great year on the playa at Burning Man. It’s so great when the universe sends along a sign signifying you’re on the right path. Viva, 2012!
