The Biltmore was constructed in 1927 on 22 acres of beachfront land that had been home to the Santa Barbara Country Club during the late 1800s. and as long been a favorite getaway of Hollywood elite.
The style is a synthesis of the Spanish-Italian Renaissance Revival, Mediterranean Revival, and Beaux Arts styles, meant as an homage to the Castilian heritage of Los Angeles.
