Last night on After the Final Rose Chris Harrison continued teasing us that he would announce the new Bachelor for 2015 during the show, but he never did. Chris B. Harrison was just a BIG tease!!!
Fans went crazy for Iowa farmer Chris Soules and we know ABC is seriously looking at him but they are also open to ther possibilities like race car driver and Emily Maynard cast-off, and John Travolta look-alike, Arie Luyendyk Jr.
Chris said this in his EW blog about why they did not announce the new Bachelor….
“The truth is we haven’t decided 100 percent on whom that is yet,” ….“Obviously we take this decision very seriously and a lot goes into this process. There are endless discussions and heated debates on which direction to go and what to do.”
Harrison claims that he and the show’s producers have had many “heated debates” about the big decision and Chris Harrison IS a producer BTW. I think it’s good that they are putting more thought into this than last year. Fans went CRAZY for Juan Pablo Galavis and producers thought it was a home-run, but JP turned out to be a big dud.
I’m sure they do not want to make the same mistake twice.
“We are very close to making that decision, but the only big mistake we could really make is to rush this and try to get it done in time for last night’s show,” he wrote. “I know you’re all anxious, and I wish I could tell you exactly when we’ll make that announcement, but I just can’t because the decision hasn’t been made.”
I think they may be hesitant about Chris Soules because of the big giant Iowa farm thing. I mean he is super hot and charismatic and lovely in every way, but I’m afraid the grand prize of being a housewife on a giant grain and pig farm in Iowa may be better fantasy than reality.
The one good thing about Chris is they could title the season “The Bachelor: Amber Waves of Grain”. Remember “The Bachelor: On the Wings of Love”–Jake Pavelka’s season? Those were the days!
Anyway, this has gotta be a tough one for producers. Andi and Josh were absolutely made for each other and it’s gonna be tough to find a lead who can deliver the way Andi did!
Take your time ABC and get it RIGHT!!!!

Hmmmn, I don’t think Arie looks like John Travolta.
I would really like to see Marquel as the next Bachelor. They really need to address the show’s racism, and they’re not going to find a classier, more charismatic guy than Marquel, who is already road tested as a fan favorite. Of course I can understand why Marquel doesn’t want to put himself in the crosshairs as the “black Bachelor.”
I’ve always loved Arie and would definitely watch him as the Batchelor (as I’m sure many women would!) but he is a bit of a playa. And anyone who’s dated Courtney Robertson after Ben’s season has questionable taste.
Farmer Chris had the classiest departure in Bachelor history, but I think you’re right about the farm thing.
