Tonight on Vanderpump Rules the truth about Mike Shay’s drug and alcohol problem surfaces as his friends Tom Sandoval, Tom Schwartz, Ariana Madix, Katie Maloney and wife Scheana Marie Shay confront him in an intervention.
Last week his wife Scheana, 30 pulled boss Lisa Vanderpump aside to discuss the sensitive situation for the first time. Scheana told Lisa that Mike was taking 5 Vicodin a day and mixing them with alcohol and that he had been hiding the problem from her.
This week Mike returned from his parents house and opened up to his VP Rules co-stars telling them he has been on drugs the entire time they have known him, saying that he has taken up to 10 pills a day.
He also reveals that he is feeling emasculated by Scheana since he is unable to financially provide for her and since she is so overbearing. Wow! And they are still in the ‘honeymoon’ phase even!
Needless-to-say boss Lisa Vanderpump is concerned.
Lisa said this in her Bravo blog,
“It just really made me cry watching this moment. There’s such a deep, rooted love in this group. It’s absolutely palpable at moments like this.
Shay was incredibly brave to walk through that door and own up to his own problems in front of everybody.
I don’t like the fact that Shay is suddenly transferring the blame onto Scheana. I think Shay is deflecting and he is putting the blame on Scheana for a problem that he brought into the marriage.
Well, Scheana you might have to be with somebody who is sober. Life ain’t that easy. You can’t walk into Alcoholics Anonymous and say everybody, “well, listen I just think everybody should just drink a little bit.” If they could all just drink a little bit, guess what? They wouldn’t be there.
I’m just worried that Scheana’s not understanding that this is a real problem and it might have a real consequence. You know what, Scheana, I know you love him, and I hope you loving him is enough to see him through this.

But take heart, despite Mike’s confession that he’s been miserable for 2 years, it looks like the two are very much together today.
