Corinne Olympios’ mom Peri Olympios defends her daughters controversial behavior
Bachelor contestant Corinne Olympios may not win the affection of Bachelor Nick Viall but she has already won the attention of all of America with her salacious antics coupled with her rather childish and diva-esque conduct—like excessive napping, having a full-time nanny named Raquel, and calling poop “poopie”.
But just because America is amused does not mean Corinne’s mother Peri Olympios is. Yes, Corinne does have a mother and a nanny.
Peri is furious that Corinne is being “bullied” on social media.
“Corinne is a very smart, bright, wonderful girl who is larger than life — kind of like me — and so I was just saying things to protect her when they were calling her a ‘slut’ and a ‘whore,’ because she’s not.”
To Corinne’s credit, she is pretty smart. I was impressed that she had really done her research on the historical significance of napping.
“The show is great and enhanced her personality,” Peri explains. “So, you know, that’s why people were saying what they were saying when they were saying she’s a little promiscuous. As a mother, I’m going to protect my daughter.”
But luckily Peri seems willing to take the good with the bad saying The Bachelor will be a “wonderful thing” for her career.
”There are some bad things, but then there are a lot of people who run up to her and think she’s the greatest thing. I’m a huge fan of how she handled herself,” she says.
“[Corinne] wanted to do this, and she went out and did it as elegantly as she did,” Peri explains. “She is very happy with the outcome, the people, everything.” Touché Peri, touché.
The Bachelor airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC.
