Yes Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay is very happily engaged to her winner
There have been rumors swirling about that Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay almost walked off the show feeling pressured and feeling that she could not give anyone her final rose, but alas Rachel does hand out one final rose and she does get engaged. And the two are still together 2 months later.
At this point the final 3 are Bryan Abasolo, Peter Kraus and Eric Bigger and I think it’s pretty darn obvious who she picks, but if you don’t know I won’t tell you.
“I love my fiancé,” she told to PEOPLE at Sports Illustrated Fashionable 50 event at Avenue in Hollywood, CA. “I just saw him yesterday. We just finished having our little rendezvous. We called it Happy Couples Weekend.”
The couple has been in hiding since the show finished taping.
“Every time I spend more time with him, it’s even better,” she added.
The 31-year-old Dallas attorney recently introduced the winner to her fierce family and admittedly they were tough critics.
“Unfortunately we’re still in hiding so they haven’t had a chance to get to know him better but I can talk about him more and so they can to know him through my eyes,” she said. “I’ve said it before: My family doesn’t agree with every decision that I make. But at the end of the day, they trust the decisions that I make even though they wouldn’t have done it the same way.”
But regardless Rachel is happy and interestingly the new couple doesn’t appear to be going through the same difficulties of past Bachelor Nation couples. In other words Rachel’s connection with one guy in particular seems pretty clear. Even though she has told more than one guy she is falling for them, she appears truly smitten with only one.
Thus, the couple hasn’t been plagued with the god awful challenge of seeing their life partner falling in love with other suitors simultaneously on national TV every week. (See Ben Higgin’s season).
But challenges still exist.
“I try to anticipate every single situation, but there are some things you just can’t prepare yourself for,” she said. “He watches every [episode], and then we talk about it, and we move on. But that’s us.”
“He’s got to answer to family and friends, and so do I,” ….. “And that’s the kind of stuff we didn’t prepare for — that’s what makes it a little harder.”
Despite being crazy for one another the couple isn’t in any rush to walk down the aisle.
“In this world, because we’re getting to know each other in a different way, I want to wait at least a year from the time that we got engaged,” ….. “So ideally, I’d like to get married next year, but who knows? We’ll see what happens.”
As for her new fiancé?
“He’s more of a hopeless romantic than I am!” she said. “So he wants to wait a year too, but probably sooner. I think he’s just following my lead.”
The Bachelorette airs Mondays (8 p.m. ET) on ABC.
