Who knew that Alexa was such a powerful force of global domination in the world of internet blogging. Well we didn’t for one. The California-based subsidiary company of Amazon.com provides web traffic data to the world. I guess we are just a little behind on this situation. We just installed the Alexa Toolbar which apparently is important in collect data and browsing behavior on your website.
We are hoping Alexa will forgive our naivety and still give us some Alexa love. According to the internet nerds this is how to please the Alexa Gods:
1. Install the Alexa toolbar for Internet Explorer and Firefox.
2. Put up the Alexa rank widget on your website.
3. Encourage others to use the Alexa toolbar. Be sure to link to Alexa’s full explanation of their toolbar and tracking system so your readers know what installing the toolbar or extension entails. Additionally you may want to ask your close relatives to install the toolbar and set your homepage as their main site.
4. Write or host content about Alexa. Webmaster and bloggers love to hear about ways to increase their Alexa rank. They’ll link to you and send you targeted traffic (i.e. visitors with the toolbar already installed). This gradually has effects on your Alexa ranking.
5. Write content that is related to webmasters.
