On a special Sunday night ‘Tell All’ episode of The Bachelor, Bachelorette Andi Dorfman reveals details for the first time of her split with fiancé Josh Murray.
The 27-year-old former assistant D.A. split from fiancé Josh Murray, 30 right after the premiere of Chris Soules season. Until tonight she had been pretty tight-lipped on what went wrong.
On the show she could barely keep it together to explain the situation. She was visibly very upset while talking to host and arm-chair confidant Chris Harrison. She claimed they “had been struggling for a while” and that the break up was the “biggest failure of my life.”
Everyone was shocked to hear the news since she and fiance Josh had JUST appeared on the red carpet looking happy days before the big announcement.
But despite appearances Dorfman claimed that was the night she knew it was over (hmmm, I suspect she knew alot earlier than that, but anyway).
“Having people ask about wedding dates and then seeing the other happy couples and people planning weddings, we had to ask ourselves, ‘Why aren’t we planning a wedding? Let’s just be honest – why is it that we don’t have a date?’ … That trip was very eye-opening.”
This part sounds like damage control on the part of Andi and ABC who probably does not want word to get out that the relationship had been long over for a while.
Dorfman did claim the breakup “was pretty mutual” …..
“We’re both very aware of the fact that we just didn’t better each other. I didn’t feel supportive and empowered and I don’t think I gave him that support and empowerment that he needed. When you have two very passionate, very strong personalities in one house and nobody can back down and nobody is the calming force for one another … it’s a lot of emotion. It’s a lot of tension in one house.”
A bit vague. All of this makes me think about what runner-up Nick Viall had to say about Josh in the famous airplane video. He was very insistent that the two were not compatible.
Anyway Andi went on to say:
“We loved each other and I think knowing what we felt for one another probably makes it that much harder not being together now,” she said. “I’ll always love him. I’ve never loved anybody like that in my life. I never even experienced love like that. I mean, will always, always have a love for him. That was my first true love, without a doubt – and my first heartbreak.”
She also admits that the two are not currently speaking. “There’s a lot of emotion there so it’s hard to keep a positive, healthy relationship going on now,” said Dorfman, “and I think both of us get upset about each other’s actions and we’re just … it’s not a healthy place right now.”
Hmmmmmm, still not sure exactly what happened. Was it really “mutual”? Someone always gets the short end of the stick and the fact that they are not talking is telling.
Earlier they claimed that there was no cheating.
