Viewers felt blindsided when 27-year-old NFL tight end Travis Kelce chose Maya Benberry over Veronica Harwood.
In fact the 25-year-old Wildwood Crest, New Jersey Fitness model/pastry chef seemed like a shoe-win and perfectly matched for Kelce. But alas Kelce blindsided Veronica in the end as well.
Tonight things looked really encouraging for her at first…in fact things looked really encouraging up until the last minute.
She and Travis even consummated their fledgling relationship in their overnight date (as Veronica confessed to her mom in bonus footage that the two did have sex).
But despite the physical intimacy Travis lamented that he had to follow his heart and not his head.
“Even though my mind’s telling me one thing, I got to go with my heart,” Travis said before breaking up with Veronica.
Veronica told cameras,
“I’m sad because I put my whole heart out there, and it just feels like it’s been stomped on,” she said after the breakup. “I truly thought I had something special with him, but I guess I was wrong. If he wants to keep going in the same cycle, that’s truly up to him”—referring to Travis admitting that he often chooses women like Maya — “over-confidant and arrogant” over women that are better for him.
She continued,
“I feel like I did everything I could. If that wasn’t enough for him, then it might never be enough for him. So, Travis, f–k you! It’s not going to work with Maya. She’s going to end up screwing you over in the long run.”
The visceral and emotional response is interesting coming from someone who never actually applied for the show. She was contacted by Producers after they saw a photograph of her on Instagram wearing a Philadelphia Eagles shirt.
Anyhoo, fans were furious with Travis for breaking up with Veronica and choosing Maya.
I’m not sure that there will be a “season 2” if things don’t work out with Maya, but I do think E! and other networks will try and persuade Travis to do another reality show like “Famously Single”.
It appears that Travis and Maya are still together but I use the word “together” loosely.
Travis is now training for the Football season in Kansas.
