Situation: Was Whitney Houston murdered?

The world was shocked on Saturday when singer Whitney Houston was found dead by “a member of her personal staff” in the bathtub of her Beverly Hilton suite. But did she really die by her own hand, as news sources are speculating, and not those of someone else?

People Magazine reported: “She was underwater and apparently unconscious,” says a police statement. “Ms. Houston was pulled from the tub by members of her staff and hotel security was promptly notified.”

She was discovered at 3:25 p.m., when Fire Department personnel and hotel security found Houston “to still be unconscious and unresponsive.”  Shortly after, the police stated categorically that this was not a murder, but speculation still exists in the minds of many — including us here at Ok! Here is the Situation.

To start, how can the police make such a definitive statement about her cause of death without all of the evidence on hand, like toxicology reports?

Boston.com reports, “An autopsy was done Sunday, and authorities said there were no indications of foul play and no obvious signs of trauma on Houston’s body. It could be weeks, however, before the coroner’s office completes toxicology tests to establish her cause of death.”

Exactly…so how can police say this is definitely not murder?

Nancy Grace caused a stir with her network by coming out and insinuating murder was still a possibility. She has been the only reporter with the courage to challenge the consensus opinion amongst the media that Whitney was not murdered.

“I’d like to know who was around her, who, if anyone gave her drugs, following alcohol and drugs, and who let her slip, or pushed her, underneath that water?” Grace said Tuesday on CNN, HLN’s sister network . “Apparently no signs of force or trauma to the body. Who let Whitney Houston go under her water?”

CNN blasted Grace, a former prosecutor, for the comment. CNN’s Don Lemon said, “This is not CNN’s reporting. We don’t know that to be true.” Whoopi Goldberg also lashed out and said “she should know better.”

Wait a second…isn’t Nancy Grace the former prosecutor here and these guys are just journalists? Who has more street cred? I’ll stand with Nancy Grace any day over the corporate shill reporters at CNN or Whoopi Goldberg (I’m sorry, what are her qualifications again for weighing in on a murder/suicide?).

Early reports were saying Whitney was found on her knees with her head submerged in water and her family immediately reported that it was “a drowning”. They said her feet were blue when she was discovered, indicating she had been there for a while. I mean…this isn’t really a position someone would land in if they just collapsed. And simply because there were no signs of a struggle, it doesn’t mean Houston wasn’t killed at the hands of someone else. This is why Nancy Grace was inquiring about who may have slipped her something. And it’s why we are inquiring too.

There are certainly still a lot of unanswered questions here, as well as suspicious behavior like the fact that Clive Davis’ annual pre-Grammy night celebrity gala went on without a hitch upstairs while Whitney’s body was growing cold downstairs.  Clive Davis was supposedly Whitney’s mentor and had been with her since the beginning of her career at age 19.

Here are some interesting quotes from Beverly Hilton hotel guests:

“This is just wrong. Her body is still right here in the building, and yet here everyone is out partying and playing her tribute music.  It’s so eerie.”

Another guest said:

“It’s surreal. I can’t believe the body is still here and this is all going on.  I don’t know if its disrespectful, or a celebration of her life.”

Here is the video of Clive Davis at the Grammy festivities right after finding out his close friend of 20 years had died. Does this really look like a man who is devestated?

Of course every murder has to have a motive, but it’s not hard to find one with Whitney. Her voice has been gone for a while. Her value as a star was fading fast. She was certainly worth much more dead than alive. Since her death, her record sales have skyrocketed and someone is certainly making a lot of money off this tragedy. Also, the timing of the death coinciding with the Grammys brings phenomenal attention to the star and financial gain to her investors. We hear stories of people being murdered all the time for financial gain so why a murder in this case seems so far out of the realm of possibility is confusing and disturbing. Obviously everything is speculation at this point, but that’s the thing…everything is speculation — including the possibility that she caused her own death. It would be irresponsible and disrespectful to Ms. Houston for us to write this off as accidental without a much deeper investigation into the situation.

RIP Whitney Houston (1963 – 2012)

  1. She was dating Ray J, Brandi’s brother who is a 33 degree mason. the murder is probably a blood sacrifice on the part of them. These people are sicker than anyone can imagine.
