This may be the most photogenic and camera-friendly couple ABC has ever produced. Jef is always keeping the world abreast of his activities via Instagram and Twitter. And now that Emily is part of the “picture,” the two are posting pics from around the world, for the world to see exactly what’s happening now in the lives of Jef and Emily.
Now that they can come out in public about their love for each other, they are spending lots of one-on-one time together traveling. First, the couple went to New York city for Jef’s 28th birthday, and now they’re in Ghana for a week to build some wells (well, really to check on wells already built by their partner Generosity Water).
The couple is there along with People Water co-founder Cody Barker and Creative Director Bronson Christensen to check on two wells that were built in northern Ghana.People Water shared pics and wrote on their Instagram account: “Finally made it to Ghana! Excited to see our projects. Have already met so many wonderful people. We can legitimately say after only 24 hrs here that Ghana is full of love. The people here are so happy. Glad to be working with @generositywater. We will try and insta more photos for y’all.”
People Water is for profit, but they give a portion of their proceeds to these non-profit charities that are approved to take donations. So Generosity Water actually builds the wells.
This is People Water’s statement about how they give: “While the water problem itself is not hard to understand, the solutions are a bit more complex. There are many factors that go into providing a sustainable water resource that we had never even imagined—issues of maintenance and sanitation, government agencies to deal with, geologist to consult, drilling companies to hire…And while many people have their hearts in the right place, sometimes that is simply not enough. (Evidence of this is that 50% of all water projects fail within the first few years.)”
