Tonight 36-year-old Nick Viall’s THIRD journey to find love on The Bachelor ends (4th if you count Bachelor in Paradise) with Nick finally in the driver’s seat proposing to 29-year-old Vanessa Grimaldi. And this time the girl said yes! That’s right after getting down on one knee and proposing twice and getting shut down….twice, someone finally accepted Nick Viall’s proposal for marriage. Sigh.
Yes, a relationship that began with puking has ended in an engagement. Vanessa got to meet one on one with Nick’s family members and express her undying love for their lothario son. Mom, Mary, dad Chris, and two sisters and a brother made the trek to Finland to interview Nick’s final two ladies.
And, despite the fact that Nick’s baby sister Bella Viall chose Raven Gates and despite concerns expressed by Grimaldi’s tight-knit family, and major concerns that Vanessa expressed just before the final moment, she accepted Nick’s proposal.
“I will never forget the first moment I saw you,” Nick begins, “Every moment since then I’ve been falling more and more in love with you. There have been plenty of times where I’ve tried to fight it and I don’t want to fight it anymore because I do love you. I’m in love with you. So much about me being here has to do with the past. When I look at you, all I see is my future.”
Grimaldi who appeared to be the most doubtful of the amazing process of finding love in 9-weeks on national TV, threatened to leave the show several times. But she stuck it out and won!
In response to Nick’s heartfelt proposings of marriage Vanessa said,
“You’ve noticed every part of me,” ….’Nick, when I’m with you, I’m the happiest I’ve ever been. I knew this kind of love existed, I just never thought it was going to happen for me until I met you. So thank you for taking another chance on love.”
…..”I know things are not going to be easy. I know I can get emotional, get a little crazy, and I can over-think things when things get hard. But I promise to remind you every day how happy you make me.”
Nick then got down on bended knee for the third time 4 carat $92,000 – $100,000 Neil Lane diamond engagement ring in hand.
“I’m the happiest I’ve ever been,” she said.
“Should we go start our life?” he Nick asks?
