Are Kalon and Lindzi together? Kalon discusses his love for Lindzi Cox

Luxury brand consultant / Texas socialite Kalon McMahon recently addressed falling for Lindzi Cox on Bachelor Pad 3.

In a Thursday press conference call Kalon said: “The thing with Lindzi was it was literally effortless.”

Kalon McMahon being a douche-bag on Twitter

The pairing was quite surprising as those of us that followed The Bachelorette (and Kalon’s douche-baggery on Twitter) and saw Kalon as the shallow socialite that would likely want a girl just as shallow, status-seeking and starved for attention as him. (If you have been following our enneagram coverage of Bachelor personalities, Kalon McMahon is without a doubt an enneagram type 3, the status-seeker.)

He was also without a doubt Emily’s season’s Courtney Robertson — except, unlike Courtney, Kalon wasn’t “winning.”

So, his admiration for the mild-mannered, somewhat awkward, 27-year-old equestrian / Business Development Manager from Ocala, FL, Lindzi Cox, was surprising to say the least.

I mean Lindzi obviously was not a spotlight-seeking attention whore. In fact, she was so un-spotlight-seeking she was totally absent from the After the Final Rose special following Season 16 of The Bachelor, despite being Ben’s number two girl! Let’s be honest, Lindzi oozed safety and security — not sex and status.

But Kalon was hooked on Lindzi as soon as the two teamed up, which revealed another less shallow side to his douche-bag persona — a side that appeared to want a genuine connection with someone even more than money.

Kalon who famously claimed $250,000 would buy a lot of helicopter fuel told the press:  “At the end of the day, my personal life is much more important to me than the game show, so if we are going to be criticized for developing a real relationship, I’m certainly not going to be offended if [others think] it was a bad move strategically.”

So Kalon decided something was more important than money! The two were more concerned about keeping their relationship together in last week’s episode. “We saw how ugly the game was starting to get and we both promised each other that we weren’t going to be that emotional couple running around the house throwing ourselves at people lobbying for votes, because we knew that when we left the house that was going to be the start of our real relationship.”

So now the two reality stars are in the real world dealing with the challenge of long-distance love. They have already spent time together post-production as McMahon has made multiple trips to Lindzi’s current residence in Seattle. (Although there are rumors Lindzi has been sent packing to “Dumpsville” once again).

“We went from essentially living together and playing house to relying on phone calls and FaceTime,” McMahon admitted. “It’s certainly a backwards way to start a relationship, but we are doing our best to make a healthy one.”

Let’s hope the two can work this situation out.
