With the Bachelor season 18 Finale just days away and Juan Pablo Galavis’ preparing to choose a life-partner we thought it would be an interesting time to discuss the religion situation–a situation that ABC all seems to dance around. All season we scramble to find clues about contestants and their religious beliefs.
We looked for clues with the strapping 5′-11″ tall Venezuelan model, Juan Pablo right away and made an educated guess that he was Catholic. I mean he is from Venezuela and his mother is obsessed with the Pope on twitter. But the question was not officially answered until the Fantasy Suite confrontation with 26-year-old Buckhead, Georgia criminal attorney Andi Dorfman.
In the shocking Fantasy Suite nightmare episode Andi Dorfman ask Juan Pablo if he knew what her religion was.
Juan Pablo said ‘no’ and defensively said …’well do you know mine?’ Andi said ‘yes you are Catholic’. Andi also let him know that SHE was Catholic.

We also know from Twitter that JP was named after Pope John Paul II.
When one Twitter user asked about his name, he answered “Because of Juan Pablo II.” Pope Juan Paul II was head of the Catholic Church for nearly three years when Juan Pablo was born in 1981.
BTW Andi Dorfman is also Catholic. We always love this detail because ABC never covers the religion situation.
Interesting that ABC always sidesteps this issue–obviously out of fear of offending anyone–understandable.
Its just such an important detail for a would be life-partner of 9-weeks.
