Playboy model, 27 year-old Jade Roper is the rare recipient of two one-on-one’s on The Bachelor aka Chris Soules obviously seriously digs her. He took her to see his home nestled on his 6000 acre farm and even bigger — his Hometown of Arlington, Iowa!
Jade gets a tour of the tiny town which takes all of 2 seconds and just involves standing in one spot and pointing. “That used to be a restaurant. That used to be a bar, etc”.
Jade is doing her best to conceal her disappointment and sheer horror. She obviously needs an emergency cocktail but unfortunately there are no bars for at least 30 miles in all directions!

Chris explains that all the people have left since the “machines” have taken over!!! It’s a bit like a creepy Sci Fy, distopic future film. But aside from that it’s adorable and as a Historic Preservationist I loved the old buildings. (Nothing better for Historic Preservation than when people abandon a city).
Anyway point being, for Chris to reveal his big insecurity to Jade clearly meant that he liked her a lot. Chris said this in his PEOPLE blog;
“I knew my first date in Iowa would be a big one. I wanted to choose someone to bring to Arlington who I could really see my future with, and Jade was that person. I also knew I needed more time with Jade to see if she could break out of her shell. Jade and I always had a strong connection, but she’d been so soft-spoken – almost quiet, (which I admired – that I also wanted to see her be able to throw back and have a good time. It’s important for me to be able to get a little wild with the girl I’m dating.”
Oh WOW!!! Little did he realize HOW wild this girl could get! BTW, Whatever you do, do NOT Google “Jade Roper nude photos” and click “images”. I thought the rumors were probably much ado about nothing and they were likely some tasteless topless pics. NOPE. You’ve been warned.
Anyhoo, Chris goes on to say:
“Bringing Jade to Arlington was huge for me. I’ve said before that I’ve always been a bit insecure about my hometown. It’s small. Really small. But it’s where I live, it’s the place I love and it’s where I want to raise a family. So, needless to say, I was a bit worried about how Jade would react. I was excited to bring Jade into my home, though. It’s a great place, but, as she mentioned, it’s definitely in need of a woman’s touch. And I was proud to show her my land. I’ve worked very hard to get to the place I am and looking over all that land with her by my side felt good. It’s too bad she didn’t want me to name a cow after her, though.”
The two go to a High School Football game that evening. I am guessing Jade was ecstatic that there were enough humans around to fill a High School. There they run into Chris Soules mom and dad and it occurs to Jade that she better tell Chris about her Playboy modelling past before they Googled it since Jade’s father found out about her naked pictures from his coworkers!
I also loved how she told Chris he should not be “embarrassed about his Hometown”!! I just hope ABC ushers Ms. Jade off to Bachelor in Paradise! I want to see her break this “terrible” news to all of her potential suitors and see their reactions. We have not seen enough of her yet!
