Tonight on The Bachelor NZ finale Bachelor Art Green had to choose between 24-year-old Sydney-based sales executive Matilda Rice and 22-year-old marketing assistant Dani Robinson, of Auckland.
In the beginning Matilda expressed concerns that she was being “friend-zoned”, but luckily romantic feelings developed for both of them.
And tonight in a very romantic sunset ceremony Art said goodbye to Dani and proposed to Matilda with a Michael Hill engagement ring.
Dani definitely won the award for best date. Art took her to swim with dolphins. He took Matilda to be pooped on by koalas.
But luckily the quality of the dates was not an indicator of who he would choose.
And I gotta hand it to Bachelor New Zealand for their ninja editing skills because most of us thought it would be Dani. Dani confessed her epic love for Art tonight. Art squeaked in response.
Dani has definitely been a lot more expressive this entire experience and Art’s mom definitely wanted her only son to choose Dani. But Art chose Matilda!!! And Matilda accepted even after he broke her wrist and after she met his intimidating mom.
We also got to meet Art’s charming sister tonight and she offered him some words of wisdom. 
Art went ring shopping with famed ring designer Michael Hill and chose a ring. And Michael offered some wonderful words of wisdom:

So are Art Green and Matilda Rice still together?
Well, we are not quite sure.
Remember last week Arthur took his remaining three amazing ladies to the Gold Coast for Fantasy Suites, aka ‘sleepovers’ and Matilda turned him down–not a good sign.
Here in the US it’s almost unheard of for a lady to refuse the ‘sleepover’ card, but you New Zealand ladies are tough cookies. I don’t know what is wrong with you that you will not consent to staying the night with a man who is dating two other women simultaneously.
Anyhow Dani accepted the coveted overnight after a surfing lesson, and quality time aboard a luxury yacht, but Matilda did not. I’m not sure this bodes well.

And then there is Matilda’s slam against Art after she saw how many other ladies he was kissing: “He’s getting a bit Billy Big Balls with kissing now.”
Rumors are swirling about that the relationship is already over and that Art is back together with his ex-girlfriend….and even that Art is gay!!—that’s right….gay. I guess we will have to wait for the upcoming media circus for clues to see if Billy Big Balls and Matilda are still together. If you have any info please email us.

I do hope the rumors are wrong and these two are still together because that ending was so cute!
