Tonight 40-year-old Danish Baroness Caroline Fleming took her fellow Ladies of London cast-mates to her Hometown of in Svendborg, Denmark to introduce them to her family’s history.
Caroline is the daughter of Baron Niels Luel-Brockdorff. She moved from Denmark to England after divorcing multi-millionaire ex-husband Rory Fleming.
She said this in her Bravo blog, about leaving her small country where she was treated as royalty and moving to England.
“Bravotv.com: Tell us about the decision to move to England considering the media attention you receive in Denmark.
CF: Growing up in an old aristocratic family means there is always a level of media interest and eyes on you. I have always dreamed of being very true to myself and my heart which can be difficult if everyone is judging you all the time and you are still young and vulnerable and sensitive.I decided to move to England because it was easier for me to exist amongst many more people and in a place where you can do and be whoever you want to be and do it less noticeably – Denmark is five million people compared to the population of the UK which is approximately 65 million people.”
In regards to bringing her cast-mates to her Hometown….
“Bravotv.com: How important was taking the girls to Denmark to you? What do you think of the trip so far?
CF: It means a lot to me to invite the girls to Denmark – a home country is often a huge part of who we are, and experiencing a little of my family’s history gives a better understanding of who I am. So far the trip has had a little more tension than I had hoped, which is the reason why I put it out there for everyone to just speak whatever they feel is unresolve – so we can go home in happiness and harmony. It’s a very special place to me and I’m hoping for a happy experience for everyone.”
Well I am not entirely sure that she achieved “harmony”, but it certainly was entertaining.
