Oh Reality Steve relishes this time of year when he has information on how the upcoming season of The Bachelor will play out and he has the D-list media chomping at the bit to find out. He likes to drop breadcrumbs and tease (although it’s kind of funny when he is beat to the punch spoiling cast members like he has been the last two years).
But none-the-less he knows how the show will play out and he loves to make the D-list tabloids beg for it — If I was a psychologist I would say he has some insecurity issues because he constantly boasts about how he is the only one who could get this info so he is going to sit on it so he has your attention and can remind you how great he is, but I digress.
So anyhow in an effort to prove HOW lame the D-list tabloids like Wetpaint and Inquisitr are (and I will certainly give him props for this move, and I say D-list tabloids because they do not even rise to the same level as a TMZ or even an Inquirer–which is pretty sad) he tossed out some chum on Twitter yesterday and they bit which I found pretty funny, but also predictable.
So without revealing who the final 6 are I will share this…
He said this on his site,
“So I’ll admit, I ran a little experiment on Twitter yesterday just to see if I’d get the reaction I thought I would. And it happened. We all know the role social media plays in our lives now, and that definitely carries over when talking about the “Bachelor” franchise. A lot of people have the ability to see something and immediately tweet/Instagram it out and there’s nothing really the show can do about it…….
However yesterday on Twitter I asked everyone to guess their final 6 girls. Every guess that was tweeted at me or emailed to me after I posted, all of them had ( edited_____) and (edited____). as part of their 6. Why? Because (edited______) was the first girl I revealed (along with saying she got the first impression rose) and (edited________) was only 1 of 2 dates that was spoiled publicly. So of course people would naturally just assume they made the top 6 since they have nothing else to go off of this season.”
Needless-to-say the point being is the media took this information and printed those 6 as the definite final 6 revealed by Reality Steve when he never explicitly said these were the final 6 and……they were not the final 6. This is why I take issue with Google giving so much legitimacy to these websites and including them as ‘news’. The RS example is typical of how they will take a tweet and turn it into a story that is completely false.
So come on D-list tabloids, if you want to be treated as a “news” source then act like one!!! I’m so over these fabricated stories showing up in my newsfeed.
