Tonight on Vanderpump Rules we meet new cast member Lala Kent who starts her job at SUR by telling boss Lisa Vanderpump that she has a ‘modeling job’ in Italy.
She also tells her fellow SUR-vers and consequently rumors start to swirl about what Lala really does for ‘work’. Her castmates are not buying it. They think she has a ‘job’ alright, but not a ‘modeling job’.
Adding to the intrigue are a slew of sexy pics of the new 25-year-old SUR-ver on Instagram. Essentially her co-workers think she is a high class prostitute or at least a ‘sugar baby’. A sugar baby BTW is a girl that allows wealthy men to be seen with her in exchange for gifts or money—there is usually an official contract detailing what the ‘rules’ are.
Especially because when Scheana Marie, 30 and Katie Maloney, 29 confront her she concedes that she is not going to Italy for a ‘modeling job’, but got a ‘free’ trip to Italy. Who gets a ‘free’ trip to Italy–no strings attached? Scheana asks Lala what she did to ‘pay’ for the free trip. Lala claims that she gets to “keep her legs closed”. Scheana asks if she gets to “keep her mouth closed”…oh snap! Needless-to-say the VP Rules girls are pretty hard on the new girl.
In her Bravo blog Katie Maloney said this about why she was so skeptical about Lala’s story….
“When Lala started talking about her trip to Italy I knew something didn’t seem right. I also know enough about that industry to not totally buy it. When I already have a funny feeling about someone and they begin to prove my theory correct it doesn’t bode well. Aside from my personal feelings I couldn’t help but feel frustrated by the fact that she not only isn’t reliable in the work place but untrustworthy which is imperative to me. We have people coming in everyday with resumes and if someone doesn’t care about the job or want to work why even give them the opportunity. I realize it’s not an important job in the big picture but don’t come in lying to your managers and co-workers.”
Well Lala made no bones about the fact that she indeed does not ‘care’ about her new job waitressing. She also mentioned that she was not used to having ‘real’ jobs aka the girl is used to being catered to.
It also looks like Lala may be dating Kristen Doute’s ex boyfriend James Kennedy, but I am kind of doubting that and thinking both are looking for ways to stay on the show. Anyhow, hopefully we will get to the ‘bottom’ of this situation this season. If you have any info please email us!

Doesn’t mean I believe the rumors. I like Lala. She is a breath of fresh air and I actually think she is the nicest one on the show.
There are lots of jobs where pretty girls are paid to hang out with wealthy men….doesn’t mean they are having sex with them. I’m just reporting the first impressions from the other castmates who likely are worried Lala is going to overshadow them.
