The tears are barely dry from the season finale of Matt James Bachelor season and we already have a Bachelorette AND a cast!
30-year-old bank marketing manager from Renton, Washington, Katie Thurston, will lead Season 17 of the show provided she didn’t Tweet anything from 2011 that will halt filming mid-season.
Thurston isn’t the only one getting a season — former contestant Michelle Young — will also be filmed. Perhaps producers are filming two seasons just in case someone has a social media mishap.
Thurston’s season will air this summer with Young’s Season 18 to succeed it in the fall.
The other minor change you will notice is longtime host Chris Harrison has stepped down and been replaced by former “Bachelorette” stars Tayshia Adams and Kaitlyn Bristowe. I don’t want to play favorites, but Tayshia has always been a personal favorite of mine, but surely Kaitlyn can help contestants navigate hot-mic situations.
Thurston got the boot during Week 6 after James confided in her that he did not have romantic feelings for her.
Will Katie make a great Bachelorette? Who knows. I just hope there isn’t a lot of preaching. I just want to see someone find love in 9 weeks on reality TV.
Katie is gorgeous and she does have a fun sense of humor so that bodes well.
She’s the girl that stepped out of the limo with a vibrator in-hand.
“This pandemic was really hard for me, and this just really go me through a lot, and I was hoping to pass the torch to you,” So she knows how to get a party started.
The season will be filmed at Hyatt Regency Tamaya Resort & Spa about 20 min outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico. So much for the Canada rumors. I guess Covid killed that dream.
With no further ado, let’s get to her cast:
Quartney Mixon, 26, McKinney, TX
Greg Grippo, 27, Edison, NJ
