Trista Sutter, 42 made history in 2003 by leading the female version of The Bachelor as the first Bachelorette where she met future husband Ryan Sutter, 40.
In fact Trista was a tough act to follow for any of ABC’s leading ladies. Her grace and professionalism were unparalleled. And she showed us that ‘the process’ of finding a life partner on reality Television could work for women as well as for men— perhaps even better.
This morning Trista and Ryan Sutter will appear on a Bachelor-themed float in the coveted Pasadena Rose Parade with Bachelor 19 Chris Soules and host Chris Harrison as well as a slew of Bachelor alumns.
Her and Ryan will celebrate their 11 years of marriage and their two children—-son Max, 7, and daughter, Blakesley, 5. The happy couple lives in Vail, Colo.
The appearance in the parade is on the heels of the release of Trista’s new book, ‘Happily Ever After: The Life-Changing Power of a Grateful Heart,’ which hit bookstores on Tuesday, Dec. 30.
In an interview with the Closer she said this about her book and her experience on the show:
“I went on ‘The Bachelorette’ because I wanted to have fun — and it was! It was a life-changing experience for me.”
“I’m proud of [how] we met. I love what we have [the show] as our history. I feel like we were just meant to be,” she added.
“I love seeing him as a dad. I’m just so proud of him. He’s my favorite person. So to be able to see his children cherish him as much as I do is really special,” she said.
“Every year we love each other more. We’ve been through hard times, where we’re not getting along and life is rough. But every year we realize how lucky we are that we’ve been able to be together this long,”
