Family is obviously very important to Bachelor and Iowa farmer Chris Soules. In fact his sisters, Lisa Wallace, Lori Nielsen and Jaci Lettemann are the ones who got Chris to audition for The Bachelorette. And I LOVED that sisters Lori and Jaci chose Jade Roper for the one-on-one “Cinderella” date to promote the Disney Cinderella movie!!! Oh man…I wish I could have seen their faces when they learned that Jade was a nude Playboy model!

Anyway Chris was born Christopher Douglas Soules to Gary, 65 and Linda Rae Soules, 66 in 1982 in Arlington, Iowa. Father Gary is a 3rd generation farmer. He and Linda raised Chris on a grain farm in northeast Iowa near Strawberry Point.
His dad was paid $1,033,231 between 1995 and 2012 in farm subsidies from the USDA BTW aka the family was pretty well off.

Mom Linda went to Cedar Falls High School and graduated in 1965. She married Gary at the Little Brown Church in the Vale in Nashua, Iowa in June of 1970.
Looks like Chris is the baby brother because sister Lori Nielsen was born in 1972. Sister Lisa Wallace was born in January of 1971–I am not sure when Jaci was born.

The family presently owns a 6,000-acre farm where they raise their 12,000 hogs and grow soybean and corn. And Chris currently works as a Farm Manager at Summit Farms, and Soules Farms located in Alden.
