Sniff! Arie Luyendyk, Jr. will not be ABC’s next Bachelor

Bachelorette Emily Maynard’s hottie, race car driving runner-up, Arie Luyendyk, Jr., just confirmed, via a press release that came out last night, that he will not be ABC’s next Bachelor. BOO! According the the press release, he says it’s because he wants to focus on his racing career:

“‘The Bachelorette’ was an amazing experience but I will not continue with ‘The Bachelor’; ultimately I realized my heart is tied to the race track and my career is my main priority. I’m looking forward to getting back on the track,” said Luyendyk.
We are hoping this is true and not just a cover-up because ABC didn’t want him. Because, if the reality is that ABC didn’t want him as the next Bachelor then they are nut bags because Arie was the CLEAR WINNER in the completely unbiased poll we ran on our site. You can see those results here.
So, folks….it looks like it’s now between Sean Lowe and Roberto Martinez for the next Bachelor. Between those two, also according to our poll, America seems to prefer Sean, but, personally, I’d prefer to see Roberto between the two. They both work for State Farm, but Roberto seems to have more personality and less “Jesus this” and “Christ that” going on in his life, which, honestly, will make for more plausible and entertaining television.
Also, if Roberto’s the Bachelor, then we’ll likely get to hear more dirt, from his side, about what happened between him and Bachelorette Ali Fedotowsky! Several members of Bachelor Nation, in various different forums, have hinted that the relationship between those two was quite a doozy, so it’d be interesting to get more insight into exactly WHY.
Anyway, according to Chris Harrison, the wait to find out who the next Bachelor will be will be over on Monday, September 10, when ABC will officially make the announcement during the finale of Bachelor Pad 3.
Filming for The Bachelor should be starting up pretty soon, so they’d better make their minds up fast!!
