When 32-year-old Bachelorette contestant Eric Hill died in a paragliding accident in April this year we learned that fellow Bachelorette alum 29-year-old Sales Representative/also Mormon, also from Salt Lake City, Utah, Brooks Forester knew him. In fact the two began a friendship several months ago when Brooks got a call from another friend asking if he wanted to go on a motorcycle ride from San Diego, California, to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico according to a new article in Us Magazine.
Remember Brooks was quite an adventurer like Eric. In fact, he led mountain bike tours in Utah so the two adventurers were bound to meet. Anyhow Brooks joined Eric and eight others on the epic journey to Cabo San Lucas.
The crew of 10 sponsored by Home Away Vacation rentals traveled 2,062 miles to Cabo, stopping to surf and swim and eat along the way. They filmed the trip for a web series, Baja & Back—seen below.
“We made friends quickly. His passion for travel became apparent, and as I learned more about his Global Odyssey, I couldn’t help but be jealous,” Forester tells Us Magazine. “He was truly a remarkable person and someone I was privileged to call my friend.”
Forester imparted one fond memory of his friend….
“We rolled in tired and dirty to this little coastal town called Bahia de Los Angeles, and the vacation rental owner mentioned whale sharks were seen in the bay a few days before,” …… “So, early the next morning, we headed out on an old rickety boat, and to our surprise we were swimming with whale sharks. It was one of the most memorable moments of my life.”
