Ben Higgins turns to God and mom for help making his final decision
aka ‘Who would Jesus choose’?
Tomorrow night 26-year-old Bachelor Ben Higgins has a very big decision to make and host Chris Harrison claims that Ben did such a good job compartmentalizing his feelings this season that he falls for both of his final women: Joelle Fletcher and Lauren Bushnell — making the process of choosing a winner brutal.
So Ben has been turning to his parents David and Amy Higgins a lot for support during his challenging 9-week journey. Tomorrow his mom and dad appear on the finale to give their son some advice.
The previews for the March 14th Bachelor season finale are intense!
Ben is seen talking to his parents and telling them that he is genuinely in love with BOTH women! Ben’s mom Amy shakes her head in disbelief and maybe a little disgust at the process that has led her sweet innocent mid-western son to this point.
And Ben’s mom shockingly picks Jojo for her son over Lauren.
“Jojo is way more my style,” Amy tells a show producer. “Just because you referred to her as the first person who will reassure me and tell me it’s gonna be OK, and that, for me, is really all I needed to hear.”
I love that her mom has a “style” when it comes to Ben’s ladies! And how interesting since Lauren is actually very similar to Ben–that she would pick Jojo over Lauren.
In fact Amy claims,
“If I had to pick for Ben — if the decision was mine – it has nothing to do with anything personal towards either girl. But if I were to make that decision for Ben today… I would pick JoJo.”
Yikes! This is going to make holidays difficult isn’t it?
The previews also show Ben and Jojo on a bathroom floor (or at least they show a closed bathroom door but luckily a boom mic operator is lingering nearby to capture the dialogue). Ben whispers to Jojo that he is “in love” with her.
Jojo says, “but your in love with her too”, and he replies “yes”!
Ben is later seen holding his Neil Lane engagement ring in tears that he had to let one girl go claiming he doesn’t want her to leave his life.
According to Us magazine Ben also turned to his faith in God and prayer to make his final decision. UPDATE: it looks like Jesus’ advice trumped his mom’s — sigh.
“Devout Christian Higgins says he turned to prayer when the weight of his dilemma kept him up at night.”
Typically the finale is all just taking care of business and wrapping things up, but this time producers really do deliver on their promise to give us ‘the most dramatic finale in Bachelor history’!
