Shep Rose makes a serious faux pas tonight on Southern Charm at the birthday party that long-time friend Landon Clements throws for him. First of all, it appears that Landon is actually trying to make a move for Shep this season, (recall last season he referred to her as ‘the one that got away’), but Shep has this cute young blonde named Bailey swirling around him now that Landon is finally available.
It’s clear that they are “sort of” dating and it’s pretty clear that Bailey is more invested than Shep….at least at this point.
So tonight Shep claims that this “girl” friend of his, Bailey Bial is “DTF”. Oops!!!!! You do not say that about a girl on national television Shep!
Shep understandably is mortified by the comment and issued an official apology to Bailey and all mankind on Bravo tonight,
“On the episode that airs tonight, a comment makes it to air that I deeply regret and am dismayed by. It is in reference to my great friend Bailey who is on the show painting me and generally just being awesome and lovely. My respect and love for her as a friend immeasurable. So, when I saw in the episode that the phrase DTF was used in reference to her, my heart sank. You see, it was a long interview and I try to be funny and irreverent, and sometimes I say things that cross the line. Unfortunately, this insensitive and completely inaccurate comment is one of these times. It was a poor and clumsy attempt at humor.”
Apparently Shep and Bailey have worked things out off screen.
“I’ve spoken with her about it and thankfully she has forgiven me, but it will still be something that wears heavily on me because speaking about women in such a flippant and cavalier way is something that I never, ever want to be associated with. So I want to apologize to her and to anyone who is offended. She is an outstanding person who makes me smile at the thought of her, and I hope we will be lifelong friends. I’ve already promised to take her on a nice vacation somewhere to make up for any embarrassment that I’ve caused. (I’m thinking a summer mountain excursion.)”
Hmmmmm, at first I assumed things had fizzled between the two because Shep is dating “an actress in Chicago” now, but Bailey is an actress and is from Illinois…not sure if that’s close enough to the description, but we shall see.
