On Monday night 34-year-old Southern Charm star Landon Clements finally confesses her feelings for longtime friend Shep Rose.
Shep then attends Patricia Altschul’s dinner party for the boys and Pat asks Shep if he’s dating anyone to which he responded “no”, but revealed that Landon had confessed her feelings for him earlier.
Patricia encourages Shep to explore a romantic relationship with Landon,
“Why don’t you just see what happens?”
And Shep replies,
“We hooked up once and I was like into it and then…she was pragmatic and was like ‘I don’t think that’s a good idea because of xy and z’ and I slept on it and I said ‘You know what? that’s exactly the right disposition to have’ and never heard another word about it for two years.”
Whoa!!! This is totally in contrast to everything that has been said thus far. Both Shep and Landon made it seem like nothing had ever happened between them in the 13 years that they have known one another–despite the fact that Shep referred to Landon as “the one that got away” last season.
Interestingly, this week on Shep & Whitney After Dark host Whitney Sudler-Smith asked Landon if she and Shep had ever hooked up to which the pair both replied, “No, we haven’t”.
I am not buying it. You cannot revoke a hookup confession! It doesn’t work that way. I suspect its more likely that Shep made the confession onscreen and when he and Landon talked off-screen she asked him not to mention their hookup. Too late!
Can’t put that toothpaste back in the tube!
To be fair I think the discrepancy lies in the definition of “hookup”. The two have not had sex. They had a hot and heavy make out session in a closet at a party.
I’m so glad we finally got to the bottom of this situation.

I think they have, indeed, had sex;fueled by the excessive drinking encouraged by the producer(s) during filming. That is the reason she told him she loved him; the classic woman whose walls crumble once she has a man make love to her with tenderness and caring, which Shep would naturally do, given their past. Their ‘discussion’ would have been the unlikeliness of his ever being able to be monogamous and the true love of friendship being destroyed by any relationship they may temporarily form, when it ultimately implodes. Both would wind up being hurt , both being victims, and both being angry and resentful toward the other. Better to leave things the way the way they are, and forget this ever happened.
