Tonight Desiree Hartsock’s guys head to Barcelona, Spain for a lot of situational drama.
Drew Kenney, gets the one-on-one tonight at last. Pre-date Drew perseverates on how to tell Desiree about James’ ulterior motives. “If there’s time to address the situation with James, we’ll get to it.”
Oh there is ALWAYS time to “address a situation” Drew!
The two hit the town for some sight-seeing. Drew gets super personal sharing the story of his difficult relationship with his dad. He discloses that his dad is a recovering alcoholic that now has cancer….mega-situation/personal disclosure of the season, but it’s definitely a more appropriate overshare than the Diabetes overshare by Mike G.
Although for the record Type 1 Diabetes is a very serious situation so we do not mean to belittle that, just that it was a little early in the game to bring out such a serious topic.
Des worries that Drew is a little too “reserved,” –we think by “reserved” she means “gay”, but Drew really butches up tonight by proclaiming:
“First things first: I haven’t been able to stop thinking about kissing you.”
Drew goes off-script tearing Desiree away from their sit-down situation taking her to a narrow alleyway for a little privacy (as much privacy as one can muster in front of a camera crew). The cameras scramble to catch the two in a heavy very not-gay make-out session. Drew even cops a few feels.
Desiree proclaims:
“Wow, that kiss really made me see Drew in a different light,” …. “It really makes me feel special.” By “different light” we think she means a ‘”straight” light’.
Ok so let’s address the big situation….
Is Drew Kenney gay? He certainly seemed extra gay tonight with his plaid sun umbrella and his uber impressive sense of style. We also knows he has written quite extensively in his blog about Milan Fashion Week. I am just saying it would be really awesome to have the first ever official coming out pre-rose ceremony this season, but I digress.
Drew does get a rose tonight and in a very strategic move delivers the news about James Case to Desiree AFTER said rose allocation. Desiree is pissed and expresses some expletives about the news that James is talking about being the next Bachelor.
On the group date six guys– Brooks, Chris, Kasey, Michael, James, and Juan Pablo suit up and play against a girls professional soccer team where they are completely eviscerated.
Then Zak Waddell gets a one-on-one taking an art class with Dez. A nude male model walks in to pose for the two. Zak, a classic enneagram 3, (‘admire my genitals’ via Sigmund Freud) can not handle the fact that somebody elses’ genitals are being admired so he goes in the back and comes back in a robe and proceeds to disrobe in front of Desiree so that HIS genitals can be admired.
The guys have a serious beef with James Case tonight who apparently claims he is using his experience on The Bachelorette to promote himself. He apparently wants to land in the final four to get The Bachelor gig. Needless-to-say the guys tattle on James and he eventually gets the boot.
Rose Ceremony Eliminations: Kasey Stewart, James Case, and Juan Pablo Galavis.
I agree with the comment left Diabetes NOT being an Overshare. Generally, I think your blog is funny and pretty accurate, but you really got an epic F minus on your assessment that Michael G’s attempt to discuss his Diabetes Type 1 with Desiree was an Overshare.
You really infuriated me actually when you inconsiderately and ignorantly proclaimed that to be an overshare. Sorry, you do not pass Go with that one.
Sorry to offend! I’m glad you usually find our opinions funny. 🙂 Perhaps my joke delivery was off on this one. I in no way intended to make light of Type 1 Diabetes. And I do know it’s VERY different from Type 2 in its seriousness. To me, though, what you decide to share with Desiree during your first sit-down on Night One should be more about compatibility and getting to know YOU. Like, Juan Pablo didn’t even bring up his daughter until the 2nd or 3rd time they hung out. It would be awful if Desiree thought of something like Type One Diabetes as a “deal breaker,” so it just doesn’t seem to be something that’s necessary to be brought up immediately. Again, sorry to offend!!!!!!!
Telling someone you are dating that you are a type 1 diabetic is not an over share, it’s essential. Being insulin dependent affects every aspect of your life. It’s not as simple as just not eating sugar and taking insulin. It’s an incredible challenge to live with and something that you need constant support with. You should really be more considerate of people’s chronic diseases before you go insulting them. I hope you never have to live with a type 1 diabetic yourself in order to understand it. Just be grateful and try to be a little more kind.
