Allegations that Ashley Doherty was just on the show to make an ex boyfriend jealous

I have to admit I have not been as in to Married at First Sight season 3 as I was season 1 and 2, but it looks like all of the real drama is happening behind the scenes this season and the real story is what a train wreck the production of this show has been.

It also looks like there are some good insiders on the Fan Forum who have info on this season which actually makes a lot of sense if you are watching the show. So without a doubt Ashley Doherty, 29 is not that in to her husband David Norton, 30 and she has been getting a lot of flack about it from fans. (Although after discovering what appears to be an arrest record on David, I am not so sure that Ashley is really at fault here).

Anyhow I think what is happening is that production is worried about all of the info that is coming out about the show and how the guys were chosen. So I think FYI is unleashing a few “insiders” on the forums to do some damage control. Check out this nugget of intel on David and Ashley.

“I have some info to share. Not going to share my source.

Here goes: David and Ashley were friendly and were coordinating tweets until she began to get bombarded with SM hate and began to resent David. They were talking and even explaining things to each other that aired that the other one was not privy too. David wanted to remain friends and handle the way things played out positively and as a united front. Ashley was agreeable to this until David got all the viewers love and she didn’t.”

The insider goes on to make some claims about Ashley doing the show to make an ex boyfriend jealous.

“Ashley went on the show to make her ex jealous and it worked. They are back together. Their relationship ended 6 months before the wedding because Ashley wanted to get married and the ex apparently didn’t.

Ashley thought the Facebook message would turn the tide to her. When that didn’t her camp decided to go for the jugglar. Even though the info about David being shady has been out there, the level of interest and digging has really hit the fan. It is not a coincidence that all of this is coming out about specific information regarding David’s alleged past after the season 2 girls have been involved.”

mafs_ashley1-e1448905982466So I am reading between the lines here, but I think producers are panicked after last season when it came out that Ryan De Nino was making death threats to his wife Jessica Castro and she had to file a restraining order.

Well it came out that the show spent very little time looking for the guys and all of their time casting the women so they knew they were really going to be under the microscope this season.

And they chose David and it looks like David has a pretty serious arrest record since he was ordered to complete domestic violence courses in 2007. So they need to keep things from unravelling the way they did between Jessica and Ryan. So this inside intel is not so flattering for Ashley.

“Ashley Houser and Ashley’s roommate are the only people that David ever got to speak to after the wedding. They came to the house for about 10 minutes. Ashley’s parents were in town during the 6 weeks and Ashley went to dinner with them but never informed David. None of the horrible things being said about David are because of the marriage, but all about trying to improve Ashley’s public image. David is considering a defamation lawsuit but does not want to harm the show especially after the debacle that was season 2. Ashley’s family and friends are the ones who created the anonymous Twitter accounts bashing David.”

Well I certainly would not be surprised if Ashley’s family and friends were taking to Twitter to blast David, but that doesn’t mean they are wrong. This reminds me of Sean and Davina’s relationship where the producers made Sean look like a saint, yet all of the insider reports suggested that he was a sociopath. The experts were really hard on Davina, but I think it was really about them trying to save their reps.

So here is more interesting behind the scenes info that makes the experts look like they care about their reputation than they care about finding these people love.

“Dr. Pepper talked to Ashley about her never wearing her wedding ring in public. Her defense was that her classmates didn’t know she was married. Ashley never wore her wedding ring off camera. (My thoughts: she didn’t wear in her diary cams she shot at her home nor the interview with Jamie for unfiltered). Dr. Logan addressed Ashley always being on her cell phone.”

So again, I suspect this inside info is coming from the show itself as a pre-emptive strike in case the info about David’s arrest ever goes mainstream media.

The insider goes on to say,

“Ashley didn’t quit her job. She lost her job because the father to the child she was sitting lost his job.”

Interesting. I don’t think there is any question that Ashley and David are divorced. Sounds like Ashley was never in to David, but the real question is who is at fault? Did Ashley discover some things about her new husband that were simply unacceptable? And will any of it come out at the finale or reunion?

  1. “Ashley thought the Facebook message would turn the tide to her.”
What Facebook message? The sentence above is the one and only mention of Facebook.
