MAFS Nick Pendergrast and Sonia Granados stay married!
In one of the most shocking Married at First Sight finales, the shows most incompatible couple decided to stay married.
He then went on to lie to show experts about consummating their marriage. Sonia was furious and devastated. It seemed all but certain that the couple was done. But I wasn’t ready to give up after seeing what Sonia wrote on Facebook. Oddly she was defending the actions of her husband.
And on September 13th she posted on Facebook,
“This journey has been absolutely amazing. However, this turns out I’m happy I followed my heart and went through with it.”
So tonight Nick and Sonia sat down with experts to figure out whether they would stay together or not. Again, first the vision boards.
Nick was interested in making money and Sonia was interested in having kids. Shockingly Nick tells Sonia that he would like twins and that twins ran in his family.
Despite his earlier concession that he was not hot for his wife tonight he claimed he was getting more attracted to his wife as they got closer — kind of late in the game, but maybe not too late.
Sonia, however tells cameras, “My gut tells me to run.”
The tables had certainly turned for these two. Sonia was pulling away while Nick was sort of falling for the woman he once asked if he could have a “Get Out of Jail Free” card, referring to being eligible for an annulment.
Nick even made her the classic photo album collage of their six week relationship as a token of his new-found affection.
Sonia, still feeling slighted by Nick, gave Nick a shirt with a cartoon pile of poop on it.
The couple then sat down with Dr. Pepper Schwartz and Rachel DeAlto. Nick told the experts that he thought they were “in a good place and moving forward in the right direction” and ……wanted to stay married!!
Wow!!! Talk about a 180!
Next it was Sonia’s turn. As gracious as Sonia was being on social media I still felt the chances were pretty slim that she would stay in this marriage….but I was wrong.
“We’ve had a lot of ups and downs, and I have moved back in, but I just — there’s just a lot of things that led me not to trust you,” ………….., “And I feel like I want to stay married to you.”
DAMN! I am speechless and a little suspicious. Hopefully Nick and Sonia are sincere and can make this situation work.
Incidentally an insider claims couples are paid based on how long they stay together. And when they met up with experts a few days later to talk about the sitch they appeared more distant than co-stars Tom and Lillian.
Married at First Sight airs on FYI Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET.
